I take pictures of people

Sometimes those people are at weddings

Wedding

Using a lifestyle approach, my aim is to document the genuine moments of your wedding as they naturally occur. You won’t find me asking you to stage or recreate moments, but you will find me capturing those moments before they even happen.

engagement

These sessions are about celebrating your love and life together, but also it's a chance to "unlearn" how you've previously taken photos up until now. To capture moments that tell your story, embrace individuality and illustrate the love you share.

senior

My goal with every senior session is to document who you are at this important stage of your life. I don't use a boring studio background or silly poses. I do use the experience and skill gained photographing weddings to tell your unique story in the best way possible.

I really enjoy working with interesting people to create either a single image or several images together that tell their unique story. So matter if you are looking for a new headshot, corporate, editorial portrait or even a annual report please contact me.

Using a lifestyle approach, my aim is to document the genuine moments of your wedding as they naturally occur. For the majority of the day I stay very hands off, focusing 100% on the story. You won’t find me asking your friends to stage or recreate moments, but you will find me ready to capture those moments before they even happen.

During portraits, it’s a little different. I give plenty of direction, working to bring creative ideas to make images that are as unique as the people in them. Though I do direct during portraits my intentions are to capture those candid moments in between the poses to give you honest, natural photos.

I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with some of the nicest couples and shoot in many of Chicagoland's most popular venues. I have shot weddings that have as few as a dozen guests to well over 500. However, no matter the location or size of the wedding - it's always been the story that resonates with me!

She Said Yes!

These sessions are about celebrating your love and life together, but also it's a chance to "unlearn" how you've previously taken photos up until now. To capture moments that tell your story, embrace individuality, showcase creativity, and illustrate the love you share.

My sessions are laid back and free flowing with a bit of quirk. The result is a collection of photos to share with friends and family. Aside from having photos of the two of you this session is when we really get to know each other. You, me, and the camera. You’ll quickly get a feel for how we use subtle direction to capture you naturally.

It’s the perfect way for us to learn a lot about each other’s personalities; it’s amazing how much we learn about how couples interact just by hanging out and taking photos.

After the session I am always open to any feedback you may have in case we need to change anything for the wedding day portraits. Some couples prefer less kissing photos, sometimes the sessions lead people to discovering their “good side.” Whatever the case may be, it’s great practice for the wedding day photos as well. The wedding day shooting goes so much quicker and smoother if we’re all comfortable and if we know what to expect of each other

Congratulations Senior!

Today, you are a high school senior and in just a few weeks you will be a college student, military service member or entering the workforce. Before you know it you will be a husband, wife, father or mother. My goal with every senior session is to document who you are at this important stage of your life. I don't use a boring studio background or silly poses; like asking you to peek around a tree. As with all my portraits - my intentions are to capture those candid moments in between the poses to give you honest, natural photos. When it comes to locations; senior sessions are completely customizable. I promise that no one at school will have the same photos as you!

I am a Chicago area photographer with over thirty years of varied and unique experience behind the camera that includes a formal photography education, over twenty-five years working as a forensic photographer and ten years documenting weddings.

My journey with photography began over 30 years ago while serving as an Infantryman in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division taking photographs of the other soldiers in the unit.

Following my military service I earned an Associate of Arts in Photography from the College of DuPage, a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Benedictine University and worked for over 27 years in law enforcement while holding an ancillary position as a Crime Scene Investigator / Forensic Photographer; including 6 years at the DuPage County Coroners Office and over 20 years with a local police agency and county major crimes task force in the western suburbs of Chicago (yes, I've shot some crazy stuff). Along the way I picked-up a few professional photography certifications and did a little bit of teaching.

I photographed my first wedding in 2006 and it has been a passion ever since. In addition to working with my own clients I enjoyed five seasons working as a Lead Wedding Photographer with one of the most popular wedding studios in Chicago. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with some of the nicest couples and shoot in many of Chicagoland's most popular venues. I have shot weddings that have as few as a dozen guests to well over 500. However, no matter the size of the wedding - it's always been the story that resonates with me!

I live in the western suburbs of Chicago with my rather large family and our Siberian Husky, Juno.
